Certain projects, such as SeaDataNet, organise regular training/information meetings intended to harmonise procedures between project partners.
Training objectives
In the context of SeaDataNet projects, one of the objectives was to enable data centres to connect to the infrastructure using the tools developed through the projects. To do so, a dedicated Work Package (Training and capacity building) involved the organisation of training courses for project partners.
Target audience
The audience targeted by these training courses is:
• any SeaDataNet project partner,
• the technicians in the data centres (administrators of data and the more technical personnel involved in the installation and use of the various system components).
Supporting material
For these training courses, specific presentations of the various system components are provided.
SISMER is responsible for the tools for reformatting files (NEMO and format converters for SeaDataNet) and the tools for generating standardised metadata (MIKADO). The presentations and practical exercises prepared by SISMER relate to these tools, the other components of the system being presented by other partners of the project.
In total, 6 course sessions were organised during the projects SeaDataNet and SeaDataNet 2 (2006-2015).
Programme
The supporting material for the courses given during the SeaDataNet 2 project and the corresponding videos are accessible on the SeaDatanet 2 project website.
