A human-scale conference on geomatics and the sea
The merIGéo conference brings together a community of geomatics professionals (public institutions, research organizations, university laboratories, state services, local authorities, consulting firms, associations, etc.) every two years to focus on a common issue: the study and management of the sea and ocean, from the coast to the deep sea.
On June 19, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique (Brittany Atlantic Maritime Cluster) held a day-long event at the IMT Atlantique in Plouzané (29) on the subject of digital twins for sustainable use of the sea and coastline. Clémence Cotten, Data FAIRization Manager for the Ocean Odatis cluster at SISMER, took part in a round table discussion on maritime spatial planning and environmental protection.
The kick off meeting of Aquarius project took place on line on the 22th and 23th of April 2024.
At the fleet seminar held at the end of January 2024, François Houiller, CEO of Ifremer, CEO of Ifremer, highlighted the campaign data managed by the Institute's Data Centre by presenting the trajectories of the oceanographic campaigns that took place on French vessels or in cooperation with foreign vessels between 1921 and 2023.
On January 30 and 31, 2024, a training session on SeaDataNet tools was organized in Trieste by the OGS as part of EMODnet Chimie.
