Five people from SISMER were participated in the fourth merIGéo symposium which took place from 14 to 16 March 2023 in Le Havre, with the aim of communicating on different projects.

The "One Ocean Expedition" is a scientific circumnavigation of the globe on the Norwegian 3-masted ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl from August 2021 to April 2023, which is planned to include 35 stopovers (Bergen to Bergen). The operation is led by the IMR and is labelled under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development.

After a 5-year mandate as director of the cluster, Gilbert Maudire, Ifremer, is handing over his position to Erwann Quimbert, also based at Ifremer since 2010.
