Ifremer is taking part in the 8th Ocean Hackathon®, to be held from November 17 to 19, 2023.

The ODATIS cluster is organizing its 1st General Meeting on December 12 and 13, 2023, at the Observatoire Aquitain des Sciences de l'Univers - OASU, in Pessac (Bordeaux).

Already accredited since 2018 by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), the Ifremer-SISMER marine data center was awarded renewal of its 2019 Trustworthy Data Repository certification by the international CoreTrustSeal organization on September 14, 2023.

The 8th edition of the IMDIS conference will take place from May 27 to 29, 2024. Abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations are open until November 23, 2023.

From 11 to 13 April 2023, the first annual meeting of the European EMODnet ingestion 3 project was held in Larnaca (Cyprus). 

From the 20th to the 24th of march 2023, two events organised by the IOC/IODE (International Oceanographic Data Exchange) were held in Paris at UNESCO headquarters. 3 people of SISMER were present.

Five people from SISMER were participated in the fourth merIGéo symposium which took place from 14 to 16 March 2023 in Le Havre, with the aim of communicating on different projects.

Launch of the centralised EMODnet portal, which brings together all existing EMODnet thematic portals.

The "One Ocean Expedition" is a scientific circumnavigation of the globe on the Norwegian 3-masted ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl from August 2021 to April 2023, which is planned to include 35 stopovers (Bergen to Bergen). The operation is led by the IMR and is labelled under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development.

 After a 5-year mandate as director of the cluster, Gilbert Maudire, Ifremer, is handing over his position to Erwann Quimbert, also based at Ifremer since 2010.
