PERSEUS (Policy-oriented marine Environmental Research for the Southern European Seas) is a research project that evaluates the dual effect of natural and human-derived pressures on the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
It combines natural and socio-economic sciences to predict the long-term effects of these pressures on marine ecosystems. The project aims to design an effective and innovative research governance framework, which will serve as a basis for policy-makers in order to reverse damage to marine life.

This project, in which Ifremer was in charge of coordinating and managing data, came to completion at the end of 2015.
