ODIP2 ‐ Ocean Data Interoperability Plateform

Promoting the development of common standards and of prototypes to evaluate and test interoperability solutions. Facilitating the dissemination of best practices and the transfer of technologies through the development of international cooperation (Europe, United States and Australia).

This project aims to improve the interoperability of major infrastructures for observation or management of marine data, established in Europe, North America and Australia.

In this project, Ifremer is working in particular on descriptions and exchanges of data acquired from research cruises (oceanographic vessels) and on descriptions of autonomous observatories, based on the international Sensor Web Enablement standard, which can formalise exchanges of data and the associated metadata over the Internet, from the sensor to the end user.
