SEANOE: SEANOE: Name your data sets!

The SISMER Marine Data Centre invites you to discover SEANOE, a solution for publishing and quoting your scientific data sets. SEANOE is being developed as part of the Ocean Pole, one of four national poles designed for coordinated management of earth observation data.

The data published by SEANOE are accessible free of charge. They can be used in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons license selected by the data author. An embargo limited to 2 years on a dataset is possible; for example, to restrict access to data from a publication undergoing scientific review.

Each dataset published by SEANOE has a DOI that allows it to be cited in a publication in a reliable and sustainable way.

Examples :

SEANOE thus offers you a solution to meet the reviews that require that the data used in an article be accessible online (e.g. Plos One).
SEANOE therefore contributes to the Open Access / Open Science movement for free access for all to publicly funded scientific data for the benefit of research. This movement is supported by new European and national policies such as the H20201 project data management procedure.
For the authors, the simultaneous co-publication of a dataset and a publication can increase the credibility of the study. The publication of a dataset in SEANOE also allows a connection to other marine information systems such as campaign DOIs currently being finalised. These systems provide cross-links that allow your readers to navigate from one information to another.
