The IMN department is in charge of developing the main information systems for Ifremer's marine data. Its role is to collect, validate, process, bank and distribute data, complying with the national and European directives in force.

Within this framework, the actions conducted meet one of two objectives:

• managing the data collected by Ifremer, its partners, its supervisory bodies, the users of marine facilities or the data required for its research, support and assessment work,
• developing the information systems and tools required to exploit this data.
